I’d Pet A Tiger Kitteh Anyday

That’s right, you’re probably confused. Even if you used a Mac, you’d still probably be confused, but you know how I like to confuse people. It’s in my nature. And speaking of nature!

Tigers! Yay. Finally, I get to experience life with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), instead of the silly Panther I had before. On Thursday I went out (avoiding my homework), dealt with the evil salespeople, and brought home a shiny new Mac: Hi, my name is Ralph!. Thaaar he blows. I was actually quite pleased with what Panther gave me, but getting this new computer was more of a necessity than a wish. I didn’t suggest the purchase, but if I have to use it, I don’t think I’ll be refusing. :P

If you own a Mac, you probably know how easy it is to set up. It took me about 5 minutes to get going and browse the internet. The problem was, I had all these files to switch over from the old computer I used, and I still need to finish that. It’s easy enough to do, but I haven’t gotten around to it. The downside is…no more Photoshop. :’( Meaning, no more ImageReady, meaning no more emoticons and no more silly images — that is until I find a substitute, or just start drawing my images by hand from now on. Oh wait, I also will no longer have a scanner, or a digital camera since — nope, I can’t go into details.

Not a big deal, I’m still happy with the new compy. This means one less person to share with, and much more space to download the useless crap I’ve never had room to download before. Or even the things that Panther couldn’t handle, like widgets, which is something I’ve been wanting to have for convenience.

I’m not used to it’s beauty yet. The old desktop I used had the ugliest monitor and design. The only thing pleasant to the eyes was the tower, and even then it was a huge mass. I no longer need a tower since the computer and monitor are a beautiful little unit.

Probably the nicest little additions I enjoy are the built in webcam/camera, the remote control, and Mighty Mouse. Finally Apple has produced a mouse with multi-click and a scroll wheel! I was tired of supporting Windows’ mice – Bill Gates is o too powerful already.

I’m happy. I better wrap this post up, I don’t want to accidentally delete it while I hug Ralph.

  3. Oo, very nice :) I’m looking to possibly pick up a Mac for my final year at university. Working all next year will give me the funds to actually get one, but it comes down to whether i’ll need one or not, most likely not.

Possibly just get a laptop for being able to move around the house with :)

I guess if you don’t really ‘need’ a Mac, Rory, what’s the point? But really, how many people only buy things they need. Not many. :P I guess Macs can be a little pricey, but they’re super-nice to use.
A laptop would probably be good, I wouldn’t mind one myself, but I’ll probably wait until I go to University and can actually buy my own.

  5. Oooo, nice. Hope you enjoy it ^_^

Mac OS X Tiger is indeed good, of course as it’s the only version i’ve ever used, I obviously can’t compare with others.
After you’ve used it a while, features like Spotlight really become useful; finding e-mails from a while ago, for example, is really easy.

Even better though, you’re getting to use an iMac with the new Intel processor in, and the built-in iSight, Front Row, etc. Nice. I bet it’s a lot faster than your other Mac, especially :D

Hope you enjoy it, it does look great ^_^
