All I want for Christmas is YOU.

I planned to make a blog post on my birthday, which was almost 2 weeks ago, but that didn’t work out due to an overwhelming amount of school work. But I like making outdated blog posts, so start reading old news amigos:

Two Friday’s ago I turned 18. Hooray for adulthood, even though I still don’t feel like an adult. It still seems a bit weird to call myself that but I’m getting used to the benefits of being 18 — voting, getting married, and now that I’m 18, I can commit a crime and not be protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

On the Friday (my birthday), besides being absolutely pumped all day about the benefits listed above, I indulged in a nice frosty glass of delicious food, topped off with some presents (including a schweet little iPod *throws away her old crappy, free, hardly-working, mp3 player*), and later hosed down with some cake. On the Saturday after, I went out with friends and shopped around. When I got home the cutest little lizard was sitting in my fish tank (empty fish tank btw :P ). Here, let me explain…

My brother works at Canadian Tire (a store which carries basic needs for your home/car – tools, chemicals, automotive parts, garden supplies, etc.). In the garden center they had just got in a shipment of tropical plants from Florida. One of the customers noticed a tiny, tiny lizard (which we later discovered to be a Brown Anole) running around on the floor and so my brother came over and a group of employees started to try to catch the little bugger. Eventually my brother did, and he took it home and set up a tank for him/her (we’re not really sure if it’s a boy or a girl, and we’ll probably have to wait until it’s a little older to determine it, but for now the stripe on it’s back indicates it’s a female). We think that the plants from Florida that were recently brought in, carried the unhatched anole in the soil. It’s only about 5 cm long, including the tail, so it’s obviously just a fresh lil’ baby. I’ll probably regret this later, but: ^________________________________________________________________________^

We think it may have even hatched on my birthday the day before, who knows. *crosses fingers* Anyway, since then the little lady has been part of our family, munching on crickets and in general, she’s actually pretty good at being awesome. We’ve come up with several names for her, including: Mojo, Monkey, Speedy Gonzales, Kish Teperatu (sp?), and I’m sure a few others. I personally, prefer calling her Monkey. Here’s a picture of the cutey:

Ok, perhaps it doesn’t look like your typical ‘cute’, but you don’t need to look cute to be cute. You just need to be small (capable of fitting into my palm), and have a crazy personality. If not, then you’re not cute. :P Oh, on second thought, you could technically just be a rock in order to be classified as “cute”, but that’s the only exception.

Other news: My commencement is tomorrow. Meaning, I will have my graduation ceremony for highschool. Yay — but I still don’t like the idea of having it now, considering I’ve already been out of highschool for a few months…

  1. Wow I probilty said this before but commencements that late oO most high schools in my area have it a week or so (normaly a few days) after the seniors get out, (normaly a week before every one else). Hmm I wonder how many poeple will miss it due to college classes :p :erm:

  2. Yeah, it’s crazy that your commencement is after you’ve already started college! 0_o That’s more than a little weird, unless it’s some typical Canadian thing… which still makes it weird. :r

    Brown Anole! *hugs*

I have been waiting for you to make a blog entry about the birthday, so that I could say “happy birthday” to you. You have the same birthday as Frodo and Bilbo Baggins, and also my friend Kavita! I feel like I’ve said this before, last year on your birthday or something. We have the same name and almost the same birthday, crazy!

  3. Aww, look at the cute little lizard.
Anyway, I suck at commenting so …….
    :fuzzle:
    Bai.

  4. Aaron, yea I’m sure people will skip the class if they have one, but it’s still a hassle. I’m lucky commencement isn’t on a Monday or Tuesday when I have class after 6pm (which is when the ‘ceremony’ is starting).
Christina, yes, I believe you told me that once before. :P But it’s all good — I’ll remember next year to wish your friend Kavita a happy birthday. :D
And Scotty, no words can describe. <3

  5. Mojo is an awesome name, i think!

I had a kind of graduation thing when i finished school. For me, it was before my leavers ball and didn’t last especially long or have any special meaning.

Bit late, but happy birthday! You still have 2 more years of being a teenager, so enjoy it – everything changes once you hit 20. Ok, well i’m lying, it feels exactly the same, but umm yeah! woo!

  6. Ouch. Don’t be happy with an iPod! iPods are here to destroy the earth! Throw it away! It’s poisonous!

  7. Just a couple of days ago my iPod viciously tried to choke me in my sleep with the headphone wires. And to think, just last week when he warned me he was going to kill me, I didn’t take it seriously. :’(
Thanks Duveaux, I’ll be sure to look out for any future conspiring. :D
